Scott D. Morris

Was born in Long Beach, California and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scott graduated from Faith Lutheran High School; upon graduation, he attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. At Morehouse College, Scott studied Business Administration and dedicated himself to academic excellence. As a result of his excellent grades, Scott was selected to represent Morehouse College with a small group of top business students at various Fortune 500 companies in Casablanca, Morocco; Istanbul, Turkey; and Paris, France. In 2011, Scott graduated at the top of his class with numerous awards for his academic success including Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Upon graduating from Morehouse College, Scott was determined to give back and inspire others to pursue educational excellence because of the great benefit that it brought to his life. In pursuit of this ideal, Scott applied and was accepted into Teach for America, an organization dedicated to ending the educational “achievement gap” by sending high achieving college graduates into America’s most needy schools to improve them. Scott taught High School Algebra I/II and Special Education in Phoenix to complete his Teach for America commitment. While teaching, Scott saw the importance of legal knowledge because of how it impacted the education system, his students, and, ultimately, the happiness and success that citizens in our society could achieve in life. Thus, upon successful completion of his Teach for America commitment, Scott was accepted to the William S. Boyd School of Law, where he was awarded a Public Interest Scholarship for his academic excellence and demonstrated commitment to public service.

While in law school, Scott was elected President of the Black Law Students Association and led the organization to receive local, regional, and national chapter of the year for the first and only time in the history of the William S. Boyd School of Law. Scott also received the award of “Chapter President of the Year” for the 2015-2016 school year. In his final year of law school, Scott was elected by his peers to represent the class as graduation speaker.

After graduating law school and passing the Nevada Bar Exam, Scott worked in the Clark County District Court where he focused on guardianship, probate, and family law. During his clerkship, Scott worked through many guardianship cases with underlying personal injury matters. Scott became deeply interested in personal injury law during his clerkship because he saw the great help that lawyers can provide when a person is injured by the negligence of another.

After completing his clerkship, Scott worked at one of the largest personal injury firms in Las Vegas. During that time, Scott successfully resolved many cases involving car accidents, personal injuries and wrongful death. After gaining knowledge and experience in the field of personal injury, Scott achieved his dream of opening Morris Injury Law.
